Today we recut a stone we had bought from an estate. I thought I would pass along this general rule of thumb regarding the recutting of Old Minors and Europeons.
You will be safe if you figure your weight loss to be 20%.
I have done a great deal of recutting and repairing of diamonds. If there is a question I can answer or opinion needed, please contact me.

Rather than chance recutting, I can show you where selling to someone like myself may be the better choice. Some cutters now sell us the old cuts rather than cut and they seem to be making a good mark. Just something to consider–Jeff
